Systems Support Manager

Overseas - Dubai

The Role....... Lead and manage the 10-strong I.S./I.T. support team who keep the head office’s 500+ users up and running. Also to manage projects involving 5 other regional offices and various work sites. You will be responsible for LAN/WAN support, servers, desktop PC support, networked applications, databases and internet/intranet functionality and security.

The company.......One of the world’s leading engineering design firms. With 40 years experience and 2000+ staff in the gulf alone, they are the region’s top player. They got to be the best by following one simple mantra – Excellence in everything they do. When there are world-class projects going on – these guys are there....and we are not talking million dollar projects or even billion dollar but multi-billion dollar projects. So, it is only fair that they seek out the best staff.......you!

The person.......Degree qualified in I.S/I.T. minimum + ITIL foundation cert, MCSE/MCSA would be an advantage. The role is as much about people as technology so your management experience, good communication skills, customer service and care are all just as important. You should have a strong analytical mind, be adept at solving problems under pressure and be the kind of person that says “The answer is yes – what’s your question?”

The location.......Western media has led many people to believe that the Middle East is a backward, unruly place where only single men went to work in the oil business. Nothing could be further from the truth. The United Arab Emirates offer a modern, progressive and very safe environment which is now home for many thousands of expatriate families. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are thriving, cosmopolitan cities that rival anything in the west – except you are far more likely to get mugged in downtown Washington than Dubai. With a hot climate, fabulous beaches and all the watersports you can dream of right on your doorstep – it is a great place for singlies and families alike. Popularity has its price though and property prices/rents are high.

The rewards.......Employers are aware of the cost of living so will compensate you with the following:

• A very competitive tax-free salary

• Tax-free accommodation and transportation allowances

• Company bonuses

• 30 days annual leave

• Health and life cover

• Free flight home annually.

To register your interest, please send your CV as a Word document. Who knows – your new life could be starting right here!
